For the construction of our current and future offshore wind farms, we are looking for a Foundation Package Engineer to reinforce our Foundations Package team.


YOUR ROLE

As one of the Foundation Engineers, you will oversee and perform foundation selection for early stage project assessments

Furthermore, during the construction phases of our projects you will assist the project team to respond queries during fabrication and construction works in factories, pre-assembly and construction sites as well as during installation.

You will:

  • Develop FEED level and conceptual design work for offshore energy related structures
  • Provide support for offshore energy related foundation concepts, installation methodologies and construction techniques to Parkwind management;
  • Assist in managing and selection of the design consultants;
  • Participate and manage the design review during foundation detailed design process for the foundations an offshore wind farm
  • Participate in supplier selection process, production and installation phase of the wind turbine foundations
  • Manage independent verification bodies
  • Provide technical expertise with regard to foundation selection and participate in continuously improving Parkwind’s knowledge build-up.
  • Identify and check the technical and contractual interfaces between design, fabrication and installation of wind turbine foundations and offshore high voltage station foundations
  • Review and create Employer Requirements related to foundation design & manufacturing
  • Prepare scopes and specifications for tender documents for foundations, and review tender documents
  • You will be reporting to the Foundation Package Manager
  • Assist in conceptual and basic design of offshore wind turbine foundations
  • Participate in the design review the ongoing foundation detailed design process for the foundations an offshore wind farm
  • Follow up of the different tenders issued for the fabrication and installation of the foundations
  • Review the contractor’s assumptions and documents to assure compliance with the employer’s requirements
  • Keep track of and implementation lessons learned

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conceptual and basic design of offshore wind turbine foundations
  • Participate in the design review the ongoing foundation detailed design process for the foundations an offshore wind farm
  • Follow up of the different tenders issued for the fabrication and installation of the foundations
  • Review the contractor’s assumptions and documents to assure compliance with the employer’s requirements
  • Keep track of and implementation lessons learned
  • Interfacing between the different scopes, packages or contracts
  • Preparation, participation and processing of follow-up meetings with the contractor(s) or design consultants.

Flexibility (in both directions) will be a large part of your function. You will have the opportunity to perform offshore visits (and occasionally you will have to travel, in Belgium as well as abroad).

Requirements

Your profile:

  • Master degree in Structural Engineering, Ocean Engineering or equivalent relevant workmanship experience; Geotechnical knowledge is a plus
  • At least 3-5 years of experience
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solving attitude
  • You are driven, pragmatic and solution-oriented
  • You have a hands-on mentality
  • You are a team player and have the necessary communication skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet demanding timescales
  • You are fluent in English, fluency in Dutch, French is a plus
  • Knowledge of design software such as Sesam, Bladed, Sacs, or equivalent is a plus.
