Job description
Parkwind develops, finances, and operates offshore wind farms. Since 2023 Parkwind has been wholly owned by JERA, the Japanese energy group that is one of the world’s largest electricity producers. It is now part of JERA Nex, JERA’s renewable energy subsidiary.
With more than a decade of experience and 1028MW under operational management worldwide, Parkwind is currently expanding internationally. Our team of 160 professionals works from Belgium (Leuven & Ostend), Germany, Ireland, Norway, Greece, Australia, and New Zealand, and is committed to making green energy available and affordable for everyone.
Considering its further international business expansion, Parkwind is looking to enlarge its legal team with a Senior Regulatory Counsel.
Your role:
You will be joining Parkwind’s dynamic legal team focusing on energy offtake, regulatory matters and permitting for renewable projects in Belgium and abroad.
You will advise on and negotiate strategic renewable energy offtake and regulated agreements, including contracts for difference, corporate power purchase agreements (financial or physical), grid connection and proximity agreements for offshore wind energy projects. You will advise on legal risk and liabilities associated with such contracts and how to manage these. As a member of the cross-practice offtake team, you will furthermore be involved in defining the offtake strategy.
You will advise on and support permitting of such projects across the globe (incl. permitting & environmental compliance, stakeholder engagement support, land access, etc.).
You will liaise with your colleagues of the business teams (incl. business development, projects, offtake, technology) to ensure and coordinate appropriate support. You will work with and be supported by the public affairs team.
You will report to our head of legal.
Job requirements
Your profile:
· You have a master’s degree in law.
· You have 4-8 years of relevant professional experience in the energy sector (e.g., in-house position with power producer).
· You are passionate about renewable energy and interested in energy markets.
· You are solution-oriented, pro-active and pay attention to details.
· You have the ability to manage multiple matters without losing oversight.
· You have strong diplomatic and social skills and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders.
· You are a team player and possess a high level of integrity.
· You have an analytical mindset.
· You have good social skills and can work efficiently in a team.
· You are flexible and willing to travel on an occasional basis.
· You are a fluent in English. Fluency in Dutch and/or French is a plus.
